## Spitz - 3rd Album "Wakusei no Kakera" (Crater of Planets)

Released on September 26, 1992, Spitz's third album, "Wakusei no Kakera" (Crater of Planets), marked a significant shift in their sound.

Following the orchestral-tinged "Aurora ni Narenakatta Hito no Tame ni" released earlier the same year, this album embraced a powerful rock sound characterized by distorted guitars, reflecting a more intense musical direction.

Members noted that the sense of echo in the sound benefited from the experience gained during the recording of "Aurora ni Narenakatta Hito no Tame ni." Vocalist Masamune Kusano reportedly grappled with the gap between lyrical imagery and word creation during this period.

Eiichi Makino, who worked on the indie album "Tsugumi no Kokoro," returned as the engineer. The original pressing is now out of print. A remastered version, featuring liner notes by music critic Dai Onojima, was reissued on October 16, 2002, by engineer Stephen Marcussen in Los Angeles. The album was also re-released on SHM-CD on December 17, 2008, with identical content.

같은 해 4월 오케스트라색이 물씬 풍기는 오로라가 되지 못한 사람을 위해를 낸 반동에서 그런지 색이 강한 왜곡된 기타가 중심의 록 사운드가 특징적인 작품이 됐다.
멤버는 「소리의 에코감은 「오로라가 될 수 없었던 사람을 위해서」에서의 경험을 살릴 수 있었다」라고 말한다. 보컬 구사노 마사무네는 이 무렵 작사할 때 이미지와 만들어진 단어와의 간극에 상당한 고민을 했다고 한다.
엔지니어로는 인디즈 시절 앨범 종달새의 마음을 다룬 마키노 에이지가 다시 기용됐다.
현재 오리지널반은 폐반이 되어, LA의 엔지니어, 스티븐·마커센에 의해 리마스터링을 실시하고, 2002년 10월 16일에 재발.음악 평론가 오노지마대에 의한 라이너 노츠가 봉입되어 있다.
2008년 12월 17일에는 SHM-CD로 재발매되었다 (내용은 동일).
