A well-preserved earthenware figurine representing the Rabbit (卯像) from the Twelve Zodiac Animals, meticulously crafted in the style of the Sui-Tang Dynasty.

This piece inherits the refined aesthetics of Mingqi (明器), burial objects from the Sui-Tang era. It depicts a civil official with hands respectfully tucked within sleeves, in the posture of a Sui-Ren Shen-Shou (human body with animal head).

* The figurine showcases the characteristic neat contour of a rabbit's head and elegant lines of its attire.
* Traces of red cinnabar-based pigments are naturally present around the edges of the robes, applied over a white clay slip on a low-fired earthenware body.
* The interior base reveals signs of hollow molding, and a beautiful patina of weathering and soil has formed over time.
