[BUNJANG] Türgesh Khaganate Coin Set / 8세기 중반 중앙아시아 투르게시 카간국 엽전형 화폐 2종 세트
These coins were issued by Sogdian merchants within the territory of the Türgesh Khaganate. The Türgesh Khaganate, successors to the Western Turkic Empire, saw its decline during this period. These coins are believed to have been circulated for a short time, as they are found only in specific archaeological sites.
The obverse of the coin is inscribed with "Türgesh Qaghan" in Sogdian script, indicating its issuance under the rule of the Türgesh Khaganate. The reverse features a horse-hoof-shaped tamga (family emblem).
As the coins were issued for a short period and are only found in certain sites, they are still under research by scholars. These coins hold historical value as a form of currency from countries outside of China, Korea, and Japan.

위 동전은 현재의 중앙아시아 지역에 존재하였던 투르게시 카간국의 지배 지역에서 소그드인이 발행한 엽전형 화폐입니다.
투르게시 카간국은 유목 중심의 부족 연맹국으로, 상업과 경제는 이란계 민족인 소그드 상인 집단이 운영하였습니다. 위 동전은 서돌궐의 후예인 투르기쉬 카간국 쇠퇴기에 발행 및 유통된 것으로 추정되며, 특정 유적지에서만 발견되는것으로 보아 학계에서는 단기간동안 발행된 것으로 추정합니다.
전면에는 소그드어로 "투르게시 카간(Türgesh Qaghan)"이라 적어 해당 화폐가 투르게시 카간국의 지배 하에 발행되었음을 드러내고, 후면에는 말발굽 모양의 탐가(Tamuga, 가문의 문장)가 각인되어 있습니다.
단기간 발행 및 특정 유적지에서만 발견되어 아직도 학계에서 연구 중인 화폐로, 한중일 외 국가의 엽전으로서 그 역사적 가치가 있습니다.
