Founded in Waldenburg, Switzerland in 1853, the Revue watchmaking tradition began its significant journey when Gideon Thommen acquired the company in 1859, marking the start of the 'Thommen family' legacy.

Revue transcended mere watchmaking, leveraging its expertise in precision machinery and aviation instrumentation to fuel its growth. From 1936 onwards, the production of aircraft instrumentation became a cornerstone of the company's operations, a testament to the precision and durability integrated into their timepieces.

Revue was highly dedicated to developing its own movements. This robust in-house engineered movement is a primary reason why vintage watch enthusiasts hold Revue in such high regard.
