This exquisite white porcelain vase, featuring a plum blossom motif, showcases elegant curves and refined ornamentation. The vase's form, characterized by animal-ear handles, originates from the Jin Dynasty (3rd century) and evolved over time, with similar examples appearing in the Song Dynasty. Originally used for storing alcohol, it transitioned into a decorative and aesthetic object during modern times.

This piece, likely from the early Republic of China era, exhibits features typical of the late Qing and early Republic periods, including a flared mouth, slender neck, rounded shoulder and body, and a double foot designed for a metal rim. The square seal mark reads "陳ㅇ之印 (Chen [unknown character] Zhi Yin)," suggesting it was crafted by someone with the surname Chen, although the second character of the name is illegible.

This antique embodies the grace and beauty of the plum blossom, symbolizing resilience and perseverance. Please note the minor firing cracks on the neck and shoulder, as well as some areas of unglazed surface on the mouth, which are considered typical for antique items.

유려한 곡선과 절제된 장식이 돋보이는
백자 첩화(부조) 매문 수이(獣耳, 귀면) 병(준)이다.
이러한 형태의 도자 기원은 3세기 진나라(晉) 시대로 거슬러 올라가고
그 후 송대에 이르면 거의 같은 형태의 자기가 출현한다.

고대에는 주로 술을 담는 용기로 사용된 것으로 알려지고
명칭도 준(樽)이라 하였는데,
근대로 오면서 장식용, 감상용, 화병 등으로 그 기능과 명칭이
바뀌었다고 볼 수 있다.
본 기물은 민국 초기의 것으로 보여지는데,
나팔처럼 벌어진 구연부, 길고 가는 목, 둥근 어깨와 동부 그리고
쇠 테에 끼워 사용할 수 있도록 고안된 이중 굽과 그 주변의 흔적 등
청말에서 민국시기 기물의 형태상 특징을 보여주고 있다.
특히, 관지에 해당하는 작가 표시가 방형인장으로 찍혀있는데,
음각으로 '진ㅇ지인(陳ㅇ之印)'으로 되어 있어 진씨 성을 가진 사람이
제작하였음을 알 수 있으나, 이름에 해당하는 두 번째 글자는 난독이어서
작가를 확인하기 어려운 아쉬움이 있다.
추운 겨울을 이겨내고 가장 먼저 꽃을 피우는
매화의 절개와 기상에 걸맞는 단아하면서도 아름다운 골동이다.
(눈에는 잘 띠지 않으나 목과 어깨 부분에 미세 빙렬이 있고,
구연부에 깨알만큼 유액이 시유되지 않은 곳이 있습니다만
골동인 만큼 하자라고 볼 수는 없겠습니다.
